Zimbabweans can now send money back home safely when working abroad

There is an estimated 1.9 million Zimbabweans living and working in South-Africa and send an average of R6.7 billion a year to Zimbabwe. According to the World Bank, 20% of money sent to Zimbabwe from South-Africa was spent on the cost of getting it there.

It is for this reason the idea for a cost effective way of transferring money across borders were born.  Our client – Hand2Hand Money Transfers – is based in South-Africa and has a Bureau de Change in Zimbabwe.

In order to send money back home you first need to register on www.hand2handtransfers.com/Register.aspx and takes only 5-mins.

The money sender can select the money collection method. There are three options available – options include Ecocash transfer (a local payment method in Zimbabwe), direct bank deposit or cash collection at the Campion Bureau de Change in Harare.

Senders can send money in any major currency. The system will automatically convert to US dollars and there is a minimum of $50 and a maximum of $500 per day sending limit. Transfer cost will be added and the total costs are indicated (10% of amount to be sent with a minimum of $15).

The receiver and sender receive confirmations via email and sms.

A few exciting additions to the site will be implemented in the not too distant future.
